Book Week 2026
Book Week Celebrations Â
We launched Book Week on Monday August 24 with our very exciting Book Week Dress-Up Parade! To celebrate the release of Toy Story 5, our staff embraced a Toy Story theme, dressing as different characters from the much-loved films, with Mr Bermingham taking on the role of Woody, leader of the toys!Â
It was fantastic to see so many of our students join in the fun, proudly dressed as their favourite literary characters.Â
Following the parade, the celebrations continued in classrooms. Each class explored either one of the 2026 shortlisted Children’s Book of the Year titles or a beloved favourite selected by their teacher. Students enjoyed reading and discussing their chosen text before completing a creative response. From letter writing and origami to food-inspired craft activities, it was wonderful to see our students engaging with and enjoying such a rich variety of books.Â
The celebrations will continue in Week 9, with our Book Fair opening on Monday afternoon, 7 September. More information about the Book Fair will be shared next week.Â
Happy Book Week!Â
